Kim Jaeckel photographer ctI know — it’s hard to commit!

Portrait photography is a big investment of time, energy, and money. You want to be 100% sure that you’re choosing the best family photographer for your family. Below are some of the questions I get most frequently (FAQs) and some questions that should be asked of every photographer (SBAQs).

If you think of other questions, just give a call @ 203-426-4493 or an email. Thanks!

Find out if Kim is the best family photographer for your family:

Is Kim a full-time professional photographer, or does she just do this as a hobby?

Although I started out my career as a graphic designer and art director, I’ve been devoted to family photography full-time since 2009. I’m a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals,  the National Association of Professional Child Photographers and other trade organizations.

Will I get Kim to photograph my family or will I get her employee/friend/student?

I will personally photograph every session, sometimes with the help of an assistant to lug my stuff, chase your kids around, and wipe their noses.

Where is she located? Do we have to go travel to get this done?

My studio is located in my home in Newtown, CT, but I travel to homes and cool locations all around Connecticut to photograph families just like yours.

OK, see you guys later!

What if my kids will not cooperate?! They are high-energy and never stand still!

I know. Kids are NUTS! And, I love it! First of all, check out my outtakes page. Rest assured that I’ve been doing this for a while, and I’m not flustered by much. I’ve survived two of my own little darlings, and between my assistant/husband and I, we’ll find something that will work. Noise makers, bubbles, candy, bells, monkeys, talking birds…we have a wide assortment of tried and true tactics. During sessions I get zany, dirty, sweaty and laugh. A lot.

What if I only want the digital negatives?

Fine! This is the 21st century. I understand that you want the digital files to keep and print and share and post. That’s why digital negatives are available to purchase with every session. PLUS, I include 4×6 reference prints so you know what larger prints should look like. If you’d like to order large prints and gallery wraps to decorate your home, or fabulous custom-designed albums, I offer all those in packages or a la carte.

I’m busy! What if I don’t have time to make ordering decisions?

Depending on what type of session you choose, just pick your favorites from the gallery and leave the rest to me. You’ll have two weeks to make decisions. If you’re in a desperate time-crunch, the ordering period can be extended, or I’ll come over and help you with your order.

Do I have to commit to a high-pressure ordering consultation? Can I order online?

You can choose how you want to place any order. If you know what you want, it’s easy to place your order online. If you need some help, I’d be happy to bring some over some coffee (or wine!) and samples and measure your walls with you.

What if I am unhappy with the final products?

All of my work is unconditionally guaranteed. I have spent years finding vendors with the highest professional standards. If you are dissatisfied in any way, I’ll work with you until you are absolutely in love with every image and product. My business has been built on word-of-mouth referrals and I take pride in providing exceptional products along with a comfortable and fun customer experience.

What if I only want a couple of small prints or digital negatives?

Since I run a full-service, high-quality studio, I spend many hours and late nights working on your photographs. From the actual session to post processing, I am driven by quality. If you want small gift prints or a few digital negatives only, I recommend that you take advantage my twice yearly mini sessions. These are shorter sessions that include a few lovely but less highly-processed digital images at a discounted rate.

Do you have a referral program?

By all means, yes! I’ve built my business on referrals and send that love right back to my established clients. If you recommend me to a friend who becomes a client, you and your friend will be rewarded.
